TALLAHASSEE - Ron Sachs Communications (RSC), one of Florida's top-rated public relations firms, today announced that Michelle Ubben, the firm's Executive Vice President, has been chosen as one of the five finalists across the nation by "PR News" for the distinct honor of the national "Agency Executive of the Year."
"PR News People Awards" recognizes the top professionals who, day in and day out, make a positive impact in the PR industry. The winners of the annual program set the benchmark for PR.
"We are very proud of Michelle and thrilled that she was chosen as a finalist for this prestigious award," said Ron Sachs, RSC president. "She is a highly skilled PR professional and gifted manager who embodies the out-of-the-box thinking, creativity, imagination and problem-solving that get our clients results."
With eight years of public relations agency management experience and 14 years of senior-level service for state government agencies, Ubben was the only candidate finalist from Florida. She has directed communications for the Department of Children and Families, Health and Rehabilitative Services, Agriculture and Consumer Services, Insurance and the Florida Senate. She also was a reporter for the Orlando Sentinel and has taught speechwriting at Florida State University.
"The mother of six children, Michelle is both a 'super executive' and a 'super mom,' able to juggle the significant demands of work and home while maintaining a laser-sharp focus and an unflappable demeanor," Sachs said. "Her PR skills are matched by a strong business acumen. In 2005, she successfully reengineered firm operations, improving productivity and efficiency while increasing revenues." The winners of the "PR People Awards" will be profiled in the PR News All-Star issue, online and at an awards luncheon on November 2, at the National Press Club in Washington D.C.
