TALLAHASSEE - The frantic pace of politics from the Florida Capitol will now be matched by "cutting-edge" analysis by the state's top journalists in a new weekly TV mini-program that will be produced for the Sayfie Review, the heaviest-hit political Web site in Florida history.
Justin Sayfie, former communications director to Gov. Jeb Bush and founder of the Sayfie Review, has teamed up with Ron Sachs, CEO of Ron Sachs Communications and former communications director to Gov. Lawton Chiles, to create PowerPlay, a five-minute, weekly Web-based video program highlighting the people and issues making waves in Florida politics.
"Sayfie Review is pleased to provide its viewers with additional original programming on Sayfie TV through its partnership with Ron Sachs Communications," Sayfie said. "The program will have timely and insightful commentary about key developments in Florida politics and government."
Sachs will co-produce and host the PowerPlay segments, featuring timely perspectives from members of the Capitol Press Corps about the issues that matter most to Florida.
"PowerPlay will be as fast-paced as the political developments in Florida's Capitol -- with keen insights and insider information from some of the best and brightest journalists in the country," said Sachs, who served more than 18 years as a reporter and editor in print and broadcast media. "Cutting-edge commentary will be a staple of the program, and it will become 'must-see' Sayfie TV for Florida's news and political junkies."
Members of the Capitol Press Corps will be invited to appear on the program on an alternating basis. Guest journalists for the premiere segment of PowerPlay will be Steve Bousquet, Tallahassee bureau chief for the "St. Petersburg Times," and Mary Ann Lindley, editorial page editor of "The Tallahassee Democrat."
Guests for segment two, to be broadcast the weekend of March 15th, are expected to be Mary Ellen Klas, capital bureau chief of "The Miami Herald," and John Kennedy, capital bureau chief of "The Orlando Sentinel."
The first PowerPlay program will be posted Saturday, March 8 on both www.SayfieReview.com and www.RonSachs.com. Each program will be posted Saturday-Monday, and then will be archived on the Sayfie Review site.
