TV Specials "Explore Adoption" and "Get Ready, America!" receive honor

Ron Sachs Communications Earns Two Suncoast Emmy Nominations

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. -  Emmy Award nominations have been made by the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for "Explore Adoption" and "Get Ready, America!" (The National Hurricane Survival Test), two 30-minute special television programs produced by Ron Sachs Communications, in partnership with CoreMessage and Evolution Media.


"It is a great honor to be nominated this year, especially since these productions impart such valuable information to millions of people," said Ron Sachs, CEO of Ron Sachs Communications. "If we help one child find a loving home or one family survive a deadly hurricane, these programs have proved their worth."

"Explore Adoption" is a 30-minute special television program, produced for the State of Florida and the Executive Office of the Governor, to raise the public's awareness of foster children in need of loving and permanent homes. The "Explore Adoption" program features children who wait the longest for adoptive families - older children and teens, sibling groups, and children with disabilities. The program tells the stories of three Florida families who have successfully adopted children from state care. "Explore Adoption" was broadcast statewide on network affiliate and cable television stations, and is available as a Video On Demand option.



Get Ready, America Logo

"Get Ready, America!" (The National Hurricane Survival Test) is a 30-minute special television program that features a multiple-choice format to test viewers' knowledge of what needs to be done to adequately prepare for hurricane season and what to do if a hurricane strikes. Presented in a quick-paced format, the program offers a retrospective of the 2008 storm season, gives the viewer an inside look into some of the most exciting hurricane research currently underway and offers advice concerning insurance issues. "Get Ready, America!" emphasizes the critical need for personal responsibility before, during and after each storm season.


"Explore Adoption" was produced by Ron Sachs Communications, in cooperation with Evolution Media and CoreMessage, and nominated in the Public/Current/Community Affairs category. Honorees include: Charles Belvin, Michelle Ubben, Ivette Marques, Alia Faraj-Johnson, Cory Tilley, Rachel Gustafson, CB Lorch, Jason Kalinoski, and Ron Sachs Communications.


"Get Ready, America!" (The National Hurricane Survival Test) was produced by Ron Sachs Communications in cooperation with CoreMessage and nominated in the Weather category. Honorees include: Ron Sachs, Charles Belvin, Lisa Garcia, Cory Tilley, and Ron Sachs Communications.


Other Emmy nominations in the Tallahassee area include: Tallahassee Matters Special Edition: Change for Change produced by WCOT-TV, nominated in the Public/Current/Community Affair category; and An Unpleasant Problem produced by Evolution Media, nominated in the Community/Public Service (PSAs) category.
