The Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has awarded a 2009 Suncoast Emmy to "Explore Adoption."

Governor's 'Explore Adoption' TV Special Receives Coveted Emmy Award

~4th Emmy Award Since 2006 Earned by Ron Sachs Communications~

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. -The Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has awarded a 2009 Suncoast Emmy to "Explore Adoption," a 30-minute special television program produced by Ron Sachs Communications, in cooperation with Core Message and Evolution Media. This is the 4th Emmy award earned by Ron Sachs Communications since 2006.


"It is a great honor to be awarded a Suncoast Emmy in a field of so many worthy nominees, especially since this production focuses on such an important issue for the families of Florida," said Michelle Lagos Ubben, COO of Ron Sachs Communications. "The real award is knowing we've been able to help children in need to find loving homes."


"Explore Adoption" is a 30-minute special television program produced for the State of Florida and the Executive Office of the Governor to raise the public's awareness of foster children in need of loving and permanent homes. The "Explore Adoption" program features children who wait the longest for adoptive families - older children and teens, sibling groups, and children with disabilities. The program tells the stories of three Florida families who have successfully adopted children from state care. "Explore Adoption" was broadcast statewide on network-affiliate and cable television stations, and is available as a Video On Demand option where available.


"Explore Adoption" was produced by Ron Sachs Communications, in cooperation with Evolution Media and CoreMessage, and was honored in the Public/Current/Community Affairs category. Honorees include: Charles Belvin, Michelle Ubben, Ivette Marques, Alia Faraj-Johnson, Cory Tilley, Rachel Gustafson, CB Lorch, Jason Kalinoski, and Ron Sachs Communications.

Evolution Media, another winner from the Tallahassee area, also won a Suncoast Emmy for the public service announcement, "An Unpleasant Problem."


The Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is a nonprofit organization dedicated to excellence in television. The Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards recognize programs aired in Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and Puerto Rico. The 2009 Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards were presented December 5, 2009, in Orlando.
